J.J. Henry of Texas Christian won the individual title with an 11-under 205.
Texas Christian won the team title with a 17-under 847. Hawaii was in 12th place at 24-over 888.
WAHINE LOSE: At Fort Collins, Colo., the University of Hawaii women's tennis team fell into the consolation bracket of the Western Athletic Conference championships yesterday, losing in the first round to Texas Christian, 5-0.
Hawaii, 16-10, plays Colorado State today.
KAIWI CHANNEL RELAY: The Kaiwi Channel Relay, the second in a three-race series of open ocean one-person canoe racing events, will be held Sunday from Molokai to Magic Island.
The team of John and Jim Foti set the race record last year with a time of 4 hours, 43 minutes, 19 seconds.
BENEFIT SURF MEET: The fifth annual Peacekeeper Surf Championship to benefit Special Olympics Hawaii will be held Saturday, May 9, at Kuhio Beach, starting at 7 a.m.
There is a $25 entry fee and the event is open to military, federal, state, city and public safety police officers, firefighters, sheriffs, correctional officers, parole and probation officers, prosecutors and members of the attorney general's office.
