Bullet Daniel K. “Danny” Amuro, 75, of Salt Lake, formerly of Kula, Maui, a retired mechanic from Hawaiian Reinforcing Steel, died Monday in St. Francis Hospice. He also was a former stock car driver for Haleakala Motors. He was born in Keokea, Kula, Maui. He is survived by wife Ruth F.; son Brian S.; daughters Peggy Ann T. Sakata and Patricia S. Bullet Leilani M. Baker, 76, of Kailua, a real estate broker in Kailua, died March 4 in Kailua. She was born in Honolulu. Bullet Gerald L. “Mr. C” Canaday, 61, of Sunset Beach, a retired auto mechanic, died Friday in Wahiawa General Hospital. He was born in Sturgis, S.D. He is survived by wife Dorothy N.; sons Gerald L. Jr., Thomas G., Warren T. and Terry A.; daughters Darlani J. Young, Leinani J. Verdadero and Martha K. Canaday-Akina; mother Irona Ross; brother Harold, 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bullet Jerome Clarabal, 53, of Pearl City, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, died April 17 in Kapiolani Hospital at Pali Momi. He was also a safety and occupational health specialist for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Lillian A.; son Shawn K.; daughters Jaymie A. Alcalde and Jacqulyn T. Clarabal; mother Trinidad R.; father Jeffery H.A.; brother Jason R.; sister Ruth T. Bullet John “Jack” Howard, 89, of Honolulu, a poetry writer, died Saturday in Honolulu. He was born in Taunton, Mass. Bullet Mary C. Kalepa, 89, of Lahaina, Maui, died Monday in Lahaina. She was born in Kaupakalua, Maui. Bullet Oliver S. Kamali, 83, of Waianae, a pipefitter for Tanaka & Sakamoto Contracting, died April 15 in Queen’s Hospital. He was also a retired fisherman and a weaver at Lanakila Crafts. He was born in Koloa, Kauai. He is survived by sons Oliver and Oliver Jr.; daughters Doreen Souza and Carol Kaleiwahea; stepsons Walter Goo Sun Jr. and Herman Kaanaana; stepdaughters Martha Toeta, Evelyn Agtuca, Harriet Goo Sun and Priscilla Calvo, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bullet Seichi Yokoyama, 92, of Lawai, Kauai, a retired owner of Island Engineers, died Monday. He was also a supervising engineer with the state Department of Transportation and served in Europe in World War II with the U.S. Army’s 232nd Engineer Combat Company attached to the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. He is survived by daughters Amy Kuba and Fay Greenslade, and four grandchildren. Memorial services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Garden Island Mortuary. Inurnment: Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
