Chicken tofu
From Leina'ala Heine and
Robert & Roland Cazimero2 pounds chicken partsCook chicken, sugar and shoyu together (simmer 5 minutes). Prepare string beans by slicing them in half length wise. Add beans to chicken. Add tofu and simmer until beans are tender.
1 slab of tofu
2 heaping tablespoons sugar
3/4 pounds string beans
Cup shoyu
Note: can also be made with pork or beef.
Pupu dish/Lomi opae
From Leina'ala Heine
and Robert & Roland Cazimero3 packages opae (dried shrimp)Soak opae in a bowl of water until soft; then drain.
1 good size Maui onion
2 tomatoesDice tomato and onion. Combine with shrimp.
Add sugar, shoyu and vinegar to taste.
