Keeping Realtors up to speed

The Honolulu Board of Realtors has promoted Chris Drake to a new position to develop computer products and services for the board's 4,000 members.

"We really are focused on upgrading our MLS information system and building a more robust presence on the Internet," Drake said. About 4,800 of the 5,000 properties on the Multiple Listing Service are put on the Internet at http://www.hbr.com.

Drake came to the board in 1996 and previously managed the board's finances, human resources and building operations as director of finance and administration.

He was in the U.S. Navy for more than 20 years and retired as a commander in 1996. He has a bachelor's degree in industrial administration from Iowa State University, a master's in financial management from the Naval Post Graduate School and a master's in accounting from the University of Hawaii.
