


Jonathan Lyau and Alethea Rebman won the men's and women's titles, respectively, at yesterday's Norman Tamanaha Memorial 15-K Run at Kapiolani Park. Lyau and Rebman
win Tamanaha runLyau, 33, edged Gustavo Varela, 26, with a time of 49 minutes, 40 seconds. Varela crossed the finish line two seconds later.
Rebman, 31, turned in a time of 1:01:24 to easily beat Tomoko Magruder, 35, by one minute.
LIMON THROWS SHUTOUT: Karen Limon tossed a five-hit shutout to outduel Susie Schoales as Chaminade University beat Hawaii Pacific University, 1-0, in the first game of a college softball doubleheader yesterday at Sea Warrior Field.
Limon (12-9) struck out two in beating Schoales (16-6).
Jarnett Lono had two hits and scored three runs as the Sea Warriors gained a split of the doubleheader with a 9-2 win in the second game.
Hawaii Pacific is 26-14 overall and 13-3 in the Hawaii Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Chaminade is 20-18, 7-9.
WAHINE SEVENTH: At Stockton, Calif., Robin Jones scored four goals to lead the University of Hawaii women's water polo team over the University of Pacific, 10-7, in the seventh-place game of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championships yesterday.
Hawaii's Marie-Luc Arpin was named to the All-Tournament Team, while Wahine Denise Parreira was an honorable mention.
The Wahine next play at the Western Regional Qualification Tournament, Thursday through Saturday at Stanford, Calif.
VULCANS SWEPT: At Northridge, Calif., Cal State Northridge completed a four-game sweep of the University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball team when Nakia Hill delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning for a 7-5 win by the Matadors.
UH-Hilo (13-31) had two hits from Adam Cancellieri, Anthony Jackson and Scott Wellis in losing to Northridge (27-17).
DOUBLES TOURNAMENT: The Hilton Doubles Challenge will be held April 24-26 at the Turtle Bay Hilton tennis center.
