Mark Barnes is taking on a new position promoting group sales in the insurance and pharmaceutical markets at the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club and the Wailea Renaissance Beach Resort. A focused approach to sales
"These are excellent markets for us, either for incentives or conventions," Barnes said.
He will be based at the Wailea Renaissance, which Marriott acquired last year.
Barnes also will manage accounts in the corporate and association markets for the Maui and Kauai Marriott hotels. More than 40 persons are involved in Marriott's Hawaii sales efforts.
Barnes has more than 12 years of sales experience and most recently was associate director of sales at the Renaissance Denver Hotel.
He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and business administration from California State College at Long Beach.
