Dedication ceremonies were held yesterday for new homes
for six families in Waimanalo. Families spent much of their
free time nailing, sawing and finishing the six homes as their
"sweat equity" part of a 53-home housing project, Na Pua Koolau
. Above, Frank Kanahele holds granddaughter Taysia Kanahele,
18 months old, with wife Merlani in front of their new home.

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs allocated $10,000 for each of the
six homes, built on Hawaiian Home Lands.
