"200 Years of Hawaii -- The Hawaiian Monarchy Collection" will showcase about 20 holoku gowns worn by royalty from Queen Kaahumanu, the first monarch of Hawaii, to Queen Liliuokalani, the last.

Mid-Pacific Institute's class of 1999, along with producer and commentator Ray Sasaki of ADR Productions, will present the exhibit from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the institute's Bakken Auditorium at 2445 Kaala St.

The renovated gowns, designed and documented by the late historian and designer Richard Goodwin, are a part of the Goodwin collection and will be shown with accessories.

The exhibit runs in conjunction with the school's communitywide fund-raiser, "World Fest '98," which includes arcade games, entertainment, food and craft booths, a silent auction and country store. The festival benefits MPI student programs.

Tickets will be available at the door, and a $4 minimum donation is suggested. For more information, call 973-5017.
