Ozawa on board to develop Oahu jobs

The Oahu Economic Development Board has chosen Debra Ozawa to develop programs that can create quality jobs.

"The economy is everybody's business, and there's a role and responsibility for every citizen, group and organization to support our economic progress," Ozawa said. "I believe OEDB is where all groups can actively participate in implementing programs for economic vitality."

The board, which was created in 1984, said its efforts since 1995 have helped create about 300 jobs.

For the past six years, Ozawa has been an economic development specialist with the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.

She earned a bachelor's degree in economics at Willamette University in Salem, Ore. and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii.
