George Avilez Jr.,78, of Kekaha, Kauai, a World War II and Korean War veteran, died March 9 at his daughter’s home in Toledo, Ohio. He was also in the U.S. Air Force after the war and retired after 28 years. He is survived by daughter Sandra; sons Ronald “Ronnie,” Gary, Adrian “Eddie” and Charles “Charly;” 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
