Akebono
still in contention

OSAKA, Japan -- Ozeki (champion) Wakanohana improved his record to 11-0 today, keeping two victories ahead of his nearest rival, yokozuna (grand champion) Akebono, with four days left in the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament.

Akebono, or Chad Rowan from Hawaii, was at 9-2 after dodging No. 4 maegashira Kotonowaka's attack and sending him out. Kotonowaka is 5-6.

Ozeki Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani from Hawaii, was at 7-4. He charged No. 5 maegashira Tochinowaka (4-7) with hand thrusts and pulled him down.
