Let's spend one more night together

Star-BulletinIf you didn't get enough satisfaction from the Rolling Stones concerts January at Aloha Stadium, the group returns to Hawaii on Saturday. But this time fans can see the Stones up close and personal - in their own homes on their television sets on Hawaii Public Television.
The landmark public television broadcast of "Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon 1998" highlights KHET's March membership drive.
The 90-minute program was taped during the Stones' critically acclaimed "Bridges to Babylon" performance at the TWA Dome in St. Louis, Mo., Dec. 12. The broadcast marks the network premiere of the program.
Unless you were in the first dozen rows at Aloha Stadium, you'll see Mick Jagger and company as you have never seen them before. And the sound is impeccable and will be all the more so for those lucky audiophiles with home theaters.
The Rolling Stones are known for spectacular production and stage sets. This recorded concert used 18 cameras, more than 500 static and 300 moving lights and a new, $1 million-plus sound system.
"Bridges to Babylon" was the most successful tour of 1997.
If you missed some of Jagger's banter at Aloha Stadium, it comes over all too clear on this recording. And speaking of recording, make sure you set the VCR - this is a performance for the ages.
Among the songs performed by Jagger, guitarist Keith Richards, drummer Charlie Watts and guitarist Ron Wood are several of the band's greatest hits: "Satisfac-tion," "Let's Spend the Night Together," "Gimme Shelter," "Wild Horses," "Waiting on a Friend," "I Want To Hold You," "The Last Time," "Like a Rolling Stone," "Sympathy for the Devil," "Start Me Up," "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and "Brown Sugar" - as well as some from the new "Bridges to Babylon" album on Virgin Records.
And if you think that Jagger's stage movements were simply spontaneous, check the lengthy credits at the end of the tape. The Stones' lead singer had a choreographer to help him keep in perpetual motion.
The special was produced by BCC Video and directed by Bruce Gowers.
