Being digital, being direct

Bert Fujitani takes a newly created position to oversee the digital printing and direct mail departments at Fisher & Pioneer Printers.

He works with a variety of clients, from small to large businesses, and helps take their graphics ideas to a polished, final product.

"Everyone has access to this (computer) technology," Fujitani said. "We take their material and make it work for them."

He has more than 24 years in the printing industry and joined Pioneer Printers in 1976 as a sales representative.

"I was designing business forms using a pencil and paper and then I started using the Mac," Fujitani said. The computer makes it easier to show work to clients.

Pioneer Ventures Inc., doing business as Pioneer Printers, acquired Fisher Printing Co. and the two companies merged in 1996 to form Fisher & Pioneer Printers.
