Llewellyn Smalley scored 25 points and J.J. Lucas hit for 20, leading Hawaii Pacific University past Hawaii-Hilo, 82-65, last night at the Blaisdell Arena for its third straight Hawaii Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title.

The victory gave the Sea Warriors (20-4 overall) the home-court advantage for their March 10 NAIA Far West Hawaii Region playoff with Brigham Young Hawaii. It also extended their home-court winning streak to 25 games and gave coach Tony Sellitto a sixth consecutive 20-win season.

UH-Hilo (10-17) was led by Merriel Jenkins with 23 points.

Hawaii Pacific, the nation's eighth-ranked NAIA team, will meet BYUH a week from today at 7:30 p.m. at Blaisdell, with the winner earning a berth in the NAIA national tournament March 17-23 at Tulsa, Okla.
