Copperfield to cast his spell

Magician David Copperfield will present his Broadway show, "Dreams and Nightmares", for six performances, May 19-23, at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

Tickets, which go on sale 9 a.m. Saturday, are $85 and $60 for the evening performances and $70 and $50 for the 5 p.m., May 21 matinee. Tickets are available at the Blaisdell box office and all Connection outlets.

Raitt returns for Maui benefit

Nine-time Grammy-Award winner Bonnie Raitt returns to Hawaii for a benefit concert for Ahahui Olelo Hawaii and the Harold Lyon Arboretum at 7 p.m. March 19 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Ahahui Olelo Hawaii works to insure the vitality of the Hawaiian language and is a key advisor to many Hawaiian contemporary musicians to ensure that their music uses the proper pronunciation of Hawaiian languages.

The Arboretum works to conserve and protect endangered Hawaiian plant species.

General admission tickets for lawn seating are $27.50 in advance and $30 the day of the concert. Tickets are on sale at the center box office or by calling (808) 242-SHOW, or the Connection at (800) 333-3388 or (808) 545-4000.

Raitt's latest album, "Fundamental," will be released April 7.

Valli, Four Seasons perform

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons make their first Hawaii appearance 8 p.m. March 6 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Coral Ballroom.

Tickets are $30 and on sale at Blockbuster Video locations and the Blaisdell box office.

Since the group's No. 1 hit "Sherry" in 1962, the Four Seasons have had 40 Billboard Hits 100 top 40 hits including five number ones.

Valli, who has had two solo chart toppers, has sold more than 100 million records over his musical career.

Valli and the Four Season's most well-known hits include "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like A Man," "Candy Girl," "Rag Doll," "Working My way Back to You," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You."
