Focusing on the community

Jean Rolles takes a new role at Outrigger Enterprises, moving from property management to the newly created position in community relations. She says the change gives her more time for community work.

Rolles is on the boards of C. Brewer and Co., the Nature Conservancy, the Honolulu Academy of Arts, the Pacific Asian Affairs Council and Chaminade University. She also works with the Honolulu Boys Choir, Family Business Center at the University of Hawaii, Governor's Committee on a Beautiful Hawaii, and the Red Cross.

"I think the whole, entire community needs to support these groups," Rolles said.

Rolles joined Outrigger Enterprises in 1982 as property manager after 25 years with the Chuck's Steakhouse chain.

She has a bachelor's degree in hotel administration from Cornell University and a master's in Japanese business from Chaminade University.
