It's Valentine's Day and a chance for many readers to send a valentine to some special folks. Happy Valentines Day
and thank you, very much

To the kind and considerate person who picked up and "mailed" a letter that fell out of my handbag. I thought it was gone forever until I received an e-mail that my friend received it. You made my day. -- Dorothy
To the grounds crew at Mililani Mortuary, especially to Robert, who stayed past his work shift to help when I locked my keys in the car. -- Clara
To the nice couple who saw me fall on the sidewalk and helped me up on Jan. 20. Also to the nice lady who drove me to Straub's emergency care, during the busy morning hour at Ward and Kinau streets. No bones broken, only bruises and cuts. I'm fine and will be walking again. -- C.S.H.
My son was going to the Chinese Cultural Plaza early evening on Jan. 24 when he fell at Pauahi and Smith streets. A man helped him, then called the ambulance, which rushed him to Kuakini Hospital. When I got a call that night, I thought it was my son, who is physically disabled, just letting me know he'd be home soon. Instead, a gentleman named Mike from Kuakini emergency called to let me know what was happening. My son had no idea who the kind man was who came to his aid. God bless him and Mike. -- D.K.
To the angel who turned in the American Theme tote bag I accidentally left in my shopping basket. Imagine how relieved I felt when the Safeway store agent handed it to me with everything intact. I truly hope you too will be touched by an angel and feel a warm and peaceful glow that tells you all is not lost.
To police officers Bueno and Tanaka who came to my aid on Super Bowl Sunday morning, when my car had a flat tire on King Street, near Alapai. They offered their assistance, then proceeded to change the tire. A Caucasian gentleman also drove by and offered his help. I will repay their good deed by helping someone else who also may be in the same predicament. A very grateful motorist. -- R.B.
To the gentleman who was with five beautiful ladies who got into the white stretch limo for putting the frosting on our Rolling Stones concert!!! -- Two Lucky Ladies
To TheBus company and all the employees for returning my wallet. -- Jack Dupio
To whoever found my dog on Feb. 4 at Pensacola and Davenport streets and took her to the Humane Society. -- J.N.
To Mrs. Macrina Tumaneg who saved my life on Christmas Day, after a piece of steak got stuck in my throat. She administered CPR and got the steak out. -- Theodore Ching
To the people who finally fixed the Keeaumoku Street bridge. I can't believe it's finally nice and smooth. Now I can get the front end of my car repaired and my fillings put back in my teeth.
To my tour guide and all the wonderful people who helped me when I broke my ankle in a fall on a ridge Feb. 5. They carried me down and took me to Pali Momi Hospital. -- Marilyn Hoyland, Alberta, Canada
To Pop-A-Lock unlocking service for helping us Feb. 4 at Wal-Mart in Kunia. You saved us valuable time during our hectic workday. It's nice to see the aloha spirit still exists. -- K.K.
To those volunteers who planted naupaka and placed those poles along Diamond Head Road, keeping it all green and trimmed. (Auwe to those people who live at either end for not maintaining it at all.) -- G.D.
To the honest person who found my wallet about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 5, at Star Market in Moiliili and to the staff who stored it in the safe. All my cash and credit cards were intact! -- Jerome Liu
