presents the best work of Hawaii seventh-
through 12th-graders.

The statewide 35th Annual Hawaii Regional Art and Photography Exhibit for seventh-through 12-grade students opened yesterday and runs through Feb. 27 at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, Academy Art Center at Linekona at 1111 Victoria Street. Exhibit hours are 1-5 p.m. Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The Scholastic Arts Awards are part of an annual nationwide program. More than three dozen intermediate and high schools submitted about 1,000 works of art. Judges selected 150 entries of which 75 are nominated for national awards.

This year's top Hallmark Honor Award winners who received $50 each are: Ashley Arimborgo, 12, Aliamanu Intermediate; Jeanifer Biccay, 13, Wahiawa Intermediate; Nicole Caprio, age not listed, La Pietra; Carmichael Doan, 16, Aiea High School; Marie Legacy, 17, Kauai High School; Amy Li, 16, Iolani School; Chris Lucero, 17, Radford High School; Evan Masunage, 16, Iolani School; Ngac Phan, 18, Kaimuki High School; Jake Powers, 15, Radford High School; Leia Rabe, age not listed, Pearl City High School; and Melisa Rodriques, 16, St. Francis High School.
