From school work to home work

Castle & Cooke Homes has tapped Alan Arakawa to be responsible for all housing project construction, as well as engineering, land development and landscaping.

"We've been spending time helping plan the new middle school for the state," Arakawa said.

"The state will bring it on in the summer of 1999 (in Mililani Mauka off Kuaoa Street)."

He joined Castle & Cooke in 1990. Mostly recently he was was vice president for engineering and land development.

Arakawa also worked in construction for Hiatsuka Brothers and for Finance Realty.

He volunteers time for the YMCA and Central Oahu Sub-Area Council of the State Health Planning and Development Agency.

He earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and master's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii.
