Ways to woo your valentine

Make Valentine's both sweet and hot.

Spice it up with It's Chili in Hawaii demonstrations and samples of chile delights, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 11 at Native Books & Beautiful Things, 222 Merchant St., part of the store's weeklong "sizzling" Valentine's Day celebration.

For a more traditional observance, there's "Afternoon Tea for Lovers," 3-6 p.m. Feb. 14 at Aston Waikiki Beachside Hotel. The hotel promises "a very intimate setting" for couples to share finger sandwiches, scones, desserts and tea. Each couple will also receive a gift. The cost is $17.25 per person. Reservations are essential. Call 623-1303.
