While it is possible to use the Internet to find out what is happening at the state Legislature, which opened Wednesday, don't expect it to be pretty or easy. Legislature's
online, but ...The Legislature runs an online information service called ACCESS that you can reach by going to http://www.hawaii.gov/lrb/desk.html.
Scroll down to the icon called Hawaii FYI. Click on that and you are sent to another screen requiring a login password. Type fyi and at the main menu choose ACCESS.
Searching bills is a slow and cumbersome process, but it is possible to actually download and print out a bill.
Internet access and FYI are also available at public libraries.
"Home on the Web" is a weekly Friday feature of the Star-Bulletin.
