Helping 'on time' happen

J. Thomas McGoldrick, a pilot with 32 years experience and 20,000 miles in the air, will be looking at ways for Aloha Airlines to keep improving. He oversees flight operations, maintenance and quality assurance.

"My biggest goal is to improve Aloha's good on-time performance," he said.

He has 13 years at Aloha Airlines as a first officer, captain, check airman/instructor, chief pilot and, most recently, as director of flight operations.

McGoldrick was a captain for 18 years at Continental Airlines and Continental Air Micronesia. He also worked in maintenance in the U.S. Air Force, and for United and Pan American airlines.

He learned the airline business from the ground up, which included carrying bags and washing airplanes in San Francisco.

Aloha Airlines has 175 daily flights in Hawaii; its affiliate, Island Air, has 80.
