heads charitable group

Ronald "Buzz" Wo leads the Hawaii Community Foundation with a new five-year strategic plan. The foundation has more than $200 million in charitable assets, and makes annual grants of about $10 million to nonprofit organizations.

"The Hawaii Community Foundation has a history of investing in the community," Wo said. ". . .We hope to build awareness of that in the public, while continuing to broaden our diverse base of grantees."

Wo is director of real estate for Foodland Supermarkets/Food Pantry Ltd. He is a board member of the Waikiki Aquarium, the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific, Hawaii Theatre Center, McDonalds Restaurants of Hawaii, Aloha Airlines, and the Girl Scout Council of Hawaii. Wo has a bachelor's degree in business at Lewis and Clark College and a master's in business administration/finance from the University of Washington.
