Fraser commits to Arizona

Keoni Fraser, a 6-foot-2, 275-pound defensive lineman who started four years for Kailua High School, said he has verbally agreed to a full scholarship with the University of Arizona.

He is the third Hawaii prep player to commit to the Wildcats this recruiting season. Earlier verbals were rendered by Kamehameha all-state offensive lineman Rockne Freitas and St. Louis second-team all-state defensive lineman Ben Alualu.

Fraser, who played in the Oahu Interscholastic Association's White Conference, had 17 sacks last season, according to his head coach, Darren Johnson.

"He was the best-kept secret in Hawaii," said Johnson, who added that Fraser turned down scholarship offers from Hawaii, UNLV, Oregon State, Utah State, and Kentucky.

"My opportunity for exposure to a higher level is much greater at Arizona and I like the competition in the big Pac 10," said Fraser.
