Insuring safety at Queen's Health System

The Queen's Health System has tapped David J. Kahaulelio to fill the new position of manager for employee safety programs, workers' compensation claims and loss-control activities.

Kahaulelio said he wants to increase safety awareness at the Queen's Health Systems and its subsidiaries. "I want to simplify the message, and how to get things done, and then communicate this throughout the system."

For the past two years, he worked as the workers' comp claims manager at Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. Kahaulelio also worked 10 years as casualty claims supervisor and workers' comp claims manager at Hawaiian Insurance Group and three years as assistant vice president and Honolulu station director for Wood & Tait, Inc., an insurance service company. He is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and studied zoology at the University of Hawaii.
