Gesser commits to Washington State One of the state's most recruited quarterbacks, he led St. Louis to two straight Prep Bowl titles

Star-BulletinJason Gesser, the two-time St. Louis all-state quarterback who led the Crusaders to two straight Oahu Prep Bowl titles and their highest-ever national ranking, has verbally committed to Washington State. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Gesser, who was one of the most recruited Hawaii-born prep quarterbacks, threw for 47 touchdowns and 4,076 yards in 19 Interscholastic League of Honolulu games.
In his senior year, the Crusaders were ranked as high as No. 4 in the National Prep Football Poll.
One of the most marketable aspects of Gesser's talent was his accuracy as a passer. He threw only two interceptions in his first 16 games as a St. Louis starter.
He is not the elusive scrambler that his predecessor, Utah quarterback Darnell Arceneaux, was at St. Louis, but Gesser was hard to nail in the backfield.
"Jason's not a Randall Cunningham but a Brett Favre (type) who can run if he has to," said St. Louis head coach Cal Lee.
