New Year’s fireworks

Aloha Tower: Entertainment on three stages around the tower includes performances by Ten Feet, 6:30-9:30 p.m; John Cruz, 10 p.m.-1 a.m.; Beat Poets, 5:30-9:30 p.m.; Alisa Randolph and the Disco Inferno, 10 p.m.-midnight; Sunland, 12:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m.; Piranha Brothers, 6-9:30 p.m.; and free karaoke with Chris Da Pordagee Clown, 7 p.m.-1 a.m. There will also be strolling magicians, clowns, balloon artists and jugglers. Grucci will light up the sky with a fireworks display just before midnight. Parking is $2 after 4:30 p.m. at Piers 5 and 6, and Irwin Park. An Aloha Tower Express Trolley will be running every 20 minutes to and from Waikiki until 1:30 a.m.; fee $2. Information: 566-2333 or 566-2337.

Fireworks: midnight Dec. 31, Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands. Viewing sites include designated recreation areas however, viewing from Major's Bay is optimal. Areas fronting Navy Housing and Shenanigan's will be secured from 6 p.m. until the end of the display. Information, 335-4379.
