Kauai, Maui, Molokai, Lanai

High surf advisory, north and west shores. Tonight fair except for brief showers. Tomorrow mostly sunny with a few showers. Trades 15-25 mph.

Big Island

High surf advisory, north and west shores.

Windward Kohala, Hamakua, Hilo, Puna: Brief showers tonight, then partly sunny with brief showers tomorrow.

Leeward Kohala, Kona, Kau: Fair tonight, sunny tomorrow, some afternoon cloudiness and upslope showers.

Winds variable 5-15 mph in Hilo and Kona; elsewhere, trades 15-25 mph.

Marine advisories

Caution is advised for the Waianae boat harbor due to surf breaking in the channel entrance.

Coastal waters: Tonight and tomorrow, east winds 15-20 knots, seas 4-8 feet, a few windward showers. West northwest swell 6-7 feet. Channels: Tonight and tomorrow, east winds 20-25 knots, seas 8-12 feet.

Volcano

The output of vog-causing sulfur dioxide gas from the eruption of Kilauea volcano has nearly tripled in a week. Little red lava is visible.
