High surf alert, north and west shores. A few showers tonight. Tomorrow mostly sunny. Trades becoming 15-25 mph.

Big Island

High surf alert, north and west shores. Hamakua, Hilo, Puna: A few showers tonight. Tomorrow partly sunny. Kohala, Kona, Kau: Clearing tonight. Tomorrow sunny except for afternoon cloudy periods and brief upslope showers. Winds variable 5-15 mph in Hilo and Kona; elsewhere, trades becoming 15-25 mph.

Marine advisories

Caution advised for the Waianae boat harbor due to high surf breaking in the channel entrance.

Coastal waters: Tonight, easterly winds 15 knots, seas 4 feet, some windward showers. West northwest swell 5 feet. Tomorrow, easterly winds 20 knots, seas 8 feet. West northwest swell increasing to 8 feet.

Channels: Tonight, east winds 20 knots, seas 8 feet. Tomorrow, east winds 25 knots, seas 12 feet.

Volcano

The eruption of Kilauea volcano continues, but red lava can be seen only by flying over remote Puu Oo crater or hiking a six-mile round-trip trail to lava entries into the ocean.
