Kibota, 65, was the Moanalua A.D. for 20 years and coached baseball and football. He retired in 1992.

Toyama, who is due to take over as executive secretary of the Oahu Interscholastic Association next month, said Kibota will serve from Jan. 15 to June 15, 1998.

A search committee will consider candidates for the permanent position.

Kibota said he has no plans at present to be a candidate.

"The HHSAA is fortunate to have the skills and abilities of Mr. Kibota, who will continue to oversee state tournaments and marketing activities," said Toyama.
