As a school "Renaissance Scholar," Supnet participates in community service projects every quarter, including work helping teachers.
Supnet is a member of a club called "Students Helping Students" whose members act as mentors to other students who need academic or emotional support adjusting to the school.
"It's fun. You get a chance to meet new people," she said.
Supnet, daughter of Miki Jr. and Lori Supnet of Wailuku, has a 4.0 grade point average and is taking honors classes in English, social studies and science. In math, she's taking Algebra I.
Outside of school, she dances with her hula halau associated with the First Assembly of God and plays volleyball for Imua Na Opio O Maui.
Lori Supnet said her daughter has been fortunate to receive a good education. "I think Uilani has had very good teachers."
