best route homeThanks to a city program to put video cameras above Honolulu's congested intersections and freeway bottlenecks, Papacostas, with the help from others at UH, has organized a Web site that could actually help you plan the best way to get home after work.

You can pick a roadway, such as Kapiolani, Ala Moana, Nimitz or Dillingham, to check all the cameras along the route. Or you can monitor all 67 traffic cameras.
There is also a movie of 24 hours in the life of the Punchbowl offramp, updated daily. While it's not exactly a film festival selection, the footage does offer proof that Honolulu's traffic is actually moving.
