Assessing Kunia for Kapiolani

David Godfrey knows what it's like to handle the financial affairs for a health-care company such as Kapiolani Health with many subsidiaries.

He comes to Hawaii from St. Francis Health Corp. Inc. of Wichita, Kan. and was instrumental in the development of the 16-acre West Wichita Medical Campus. Now he is exploring the options and community needs for a Kunia property purchased by Kapiolani Health.

"We're still in the feasibility stage," Godfrey said. ". . . A lot will change in the next two or three years."

While at St. Francis for 10 years, Godfrey was controller for the health system, consisting of four holding companies and 20 subsidiaries. He also was chief financial officer for the for-profit company and president of the real estate company.

He has a bachelor's degree in administration from Wichita State University.
