top Sharks in 12Maui's Calvin Pickering had sent the game into extra innings with a pinch-hit homer in the ninth. His eighth homer of the season tied him with West Oahu's Jim Chamblee for the league lead.
David Lee, the third of four Maui pitchers, picked up the victory after working two scoreless innings. Ryan Kohlmeier checked the Sharks in the bottom of the 12th to earn a save.
Ryan Minor put Honolulu ahead , 1-0, with an RBI double in the first. Maui's Roberto Molina and the Sharks' Norm Hutchins traded solo homers in the sixth.
In the seventh, Maui's Brian Richardson was hit in the head by a Jason Grilli pitch and had to leave the game. Pinch-runner Randy Winn eventually scored on a groundout, tying it at 2-2.
But the Sharks untied it in their half of the inning on a run-scoring single by Nelson Castro.
Last night's scheduled doubleheader at Hilo between the Stars and West Oahu was rained out.
The league's All-Star Game will be played tomorrow on Maui at 6 p.m.
