St. Louis to drop from poll
Loss to Kamehameha costly for Crusaders
By Pat Bigold
Star-BulletinSt. Louis will drop out of both the National Prep Football Poll and the USA Today "Super 25" as a result of Saturday's 34-15 loss to Kamehameha at Aloha Stadium. "Losing to a team with two losses, you can't, in all fairness, leave them in there," said Doug Huff, the sports editor of the Wheeling Intelligencer (W.Va.), who compiles the National Prep Football Poll.
St. Louis was No. 4 in Huff's poll and was 19th in USA Today.
Huff said that the Crusaders (11-1 overall) could get back into the lower echelons of the national poll if they defeat Kamehameha in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu playoff on Friday night at Aloha Stadium.
