Kauai, Maui, Molokai, Lanai

A high surf advisory is up for all north and west shores. Cloudy and showery tonight and some showers tomorrow; thunderstorms possible on Kauai. Winds variable 5-15 mph; gusty near thunderstorms.

Big Island

A high surf advisory is posted for the north and west shores. Partly cloudy with a few showers tonight and tomorrow. Winds variable 5-15 mph, daytime sea breezes.

Marine advisories

A front 150 nautical miles northwest of Kauai is nearly stationary.

A high surf advisory is up for the north and west shores of all islands.

Coastal waters: Variable winds 10 knots, seas 2 feet, a few showers tonight and tomorrow. Northwest swell 5 feet.

Channels: Tonight and tomorrow, variable winds 10-15 knots, seas 2-4 feet.

Volcano

Lava has been visible at night and during the day at a lookout two to three miles from the end of Chain of Craters Road. National Park officials recommend wearing boots to walk over lava fields. If viewing at night, bring a flashlight.
