Ching’s perfect picks pay

This week's Football Fever winner went 10-0

Darrell Ching, a 40-year-old T-shirt shop owner from Mililani, scored a perfect 10 with his picks last week and received the good news at his store yesterday morning that he had won $500 in the Football Fever Contest.

"It caught me by surprise, a real pleasant surprise," said the Mililani Pop Warner coach who helped his Midget Division team to a 5-3 record this past season.

Ching has been filling out two entries per week since the contest started and said, "I've beaten the top celebrities many times and this year they aren't doing too well."

His Pop Warner team is playing a game in Kona Thanksgiving weekend so Ching said the money would come in handy as his family is also making the trip.

In order to qualify for the drawing, Ching had to score equal to or better than the top celebrity panelist for the week. KITV's Shawn Ching went 8-2.

There were a total of 19,115 entries.
