Edgar C. Doleman, 88, of Honolulu, a retired lieutenant general in the U.S. Army, died Friday. He led infantry units in World War II and the Korean War and was wounded twice. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, the Silver Star (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Legion of Merit (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Purple Heart (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Bronze Star (with two Oak Leaf Clusters), the French Legion of Honor and the Korean Order of Ulchi. In 1996 he was inducted in the Gallery of Heroes of the U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii. He was also chairman of the board of the local chapter of the American Heart Association and Hawaii Pacific College, now Hawaii Pacific University.
