Easy wins for Salter, Jorris

Brian Salter and Heather Jorris ran away with the men's and women's titles in the Val Nolasco memorial half-marathon yesterday.

Salter won the men's title in 1 hour, 9 minutes, 13 seconds. Gustavo Varela was a distant second in 1:14:26.

Jorris, finishing in 1:24:02, had a three-minute edge over Rhonda Alley-Davidson, 1:27:20.

TOMORI WINS: Christel Tomori's final-round 80 was enough to win the Hawaii State Women's Golf Association Neighbor Island Tournament by two strokes yesterday at Maui's Kaanapali North Course.

Tomori, who works at the Navy Marine Course on Oahu, finished with a 156. Marie Miyashiro, who was tied with Tomori after Saturday's first round with a 76, finished with an 82.

OTA ROMPS: Robert Ota shot a final round 76 to win the 36-hole Kuilima Amateur Golf Tournament yesterday by seven strokes.

His two-round total easily beat Brandan Kop and Canton Soifua.

OYAMA AGAIN: Ei Oyama won her second Hawaii Pacific Tennis Association singles title of the year yesterday with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over April Appel in the Grand Prix Championships at Turtle Bay.

Joel Finnigan won the men's crown , 6-3, 6-3, over Ikaika Jobe.
