Ensuring new services at Bankoh

Corrine Gebhardt heads the new insurance department at Bank of Hawaii as it moves to expand its financial services.

"Banks can be very efficient in this just as they have been in Europe for some time," she said. "There is a value chain that links a full range of products. It includes price, advice, and convenience value."

Gebhardt deals with all insurance and re-insurance operations for Bankoh and other subsidiaries of Pacific Century Financial Corp.

Gebhardt most recently was president and chief executive officer of Royal State National Insurance Co.

She also served as a board director and treasurer of the Hawaii Life and Disability Guaranty Association.

Before moving here in 1989, she worked with Farm Bureau Insurance Companies in the Denver area. She also had her own insurance agency and marketing firm.
