Bookkeeper banks $500
in Football Fever contestMcCartney wins drawing after finishing 8-2
Star-Bulletin staffDonna McCartney is usually pretty good at remembering things. She has to be in her job.
McCartney has been the bookkeeper for her husband's tire business since it opened 11 years ago.
But when she received a call from the Star-Bulletin telling her she had won $500 in the Football Fever contest, McCartney's memory failed her.
"I was so stunned, they asked me for my social security number and I couldn't even remember it," she said.
McCartney got eight of 10 games right last week to qualify for the random drawing for the cash. She beat the top celebrity panelist, Star-Bulletin sportswriter Cindy Luis, who went 6-4. McCartney was one of 18,277 entries.
McCartney is a University of Hawaii season ticket holder, but she correctly predicted Brigham Young University's win over the Rainbows.
