Heard a good
story lately?

Talk Story, an annual event that celebrates story-telling and oral history, takes place this weekend at Bishop Museum.

The talking runs from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. There also will be puppet shows, magic, songs, enactments, music and dance.

Admission is free for residents and military. Information: 592-7029.

Guitar masters perform

Three slide guitar masters will fill the Honolulu Academy of Arts Theatre with music Saturday, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Debishish Bhatt, Martin Simpson and Bob Brozman will perform solo and in ensemble, and will be joined by Hawaii's Ledward Kaapana.

Tickets are $12 at the Academy box office or by calling Hawaii Public Radio at 955-8821.

A Hispanic celebration

The fifth annual Hispanic Heritage Festival will feature live music, folkloric ballet dance troupes, magicians and children's games Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of City Hall.

The festival takes place 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Puerto Rico's Jose Nogueras and his band will also perform and there will be booths serving foods from Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico and South American cultures.
