Raphael K. Christ Jr., 77, of Waianae, a retired civil servant, died Tuesday in Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. Born in Honolulu, he is survived by wife Annie A.; daughters Annie P. Christ, Diana Benner and Sharlene Nahale; sister Marie Olson; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Private services.

Dezma A. Dunn, 83, of Kekaha, Kauai, a state civil engineer, died Sunday in Wilcox Hospital. Born in Oregon, he is survived by sisters Francie Ross, Willa Johnson and Nancy Grew; brother James; son Larry Whitney; daughters Pauline Clark, Susan White, Kathleen Odegard and Marilyn Dunn; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Florence I. Hayashi, 88, of Honolulu who died Sept. 28 was not the owner of Like Like Drive-In. Incorrect information was published in an obituary Saturday.

Arden K. Hunt, 80, of Hawaiian Ocean View Estates, Hawaii, a retired carpenter, died Monday in Kona Community Hospital. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. Born in Marshfield, Ore., he is survived by wife Iona M.; sons Darrell and Clifford Hunt and Charles E. Jaeger; daughters Janis Barnhill and Dian Hunt; brother John E.; sister Margaret Stratton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patrick P. “Puna” Kalima, 38, of Keaau, Hawaii, a cargo handler for DHL, died Tuesday in Hilo Hospital. Born in Hilo, he is survived by mother Diane; sisters Laura Kalima, Leah Duyao, Reeva Kalima and Andra “Ipo” Hegent; and grandmother Dorothy Peters. Edith K. Kaninau, 79, of Honolulu, a retired civil servant, died Monday in Waianae. Born in Laie, Koolauloa, she is survived by husband Daniel; sons Daniel Jr., Darrell and Ethan “Kaonohiokala”; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Dr. Kuakini K. Kawananakoa-Prible, 64, of Keaau, Hawaii, died Sunday in Hilo Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he is survived by children Lailani and Kawaika; sister Esther K. John R. “Bobby” Lewis, 65, of Hilo, a retired district manager for Hawaii Tribune-Herald, died last Friday in Hilo Hospital. He was a former chef and former

employee of the Parks Department in Kona. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Born in Hilo, he is survived by wife Adeline S.V.; sons John R. Jr., Daniel “Troy,” Kenneth, Wendell, Charles and Robert B.; daughters Ann Barcena and Susan and Johnalyn Lewis; brothers Eddie Lewis, Robert Fernandez and Harold and David Enos; sister Eleanor Hornsvy; and 19 grandchildren. Betsy T. Nagamine, 72, of Honolulu, a retiree of Woolworth, died Thursday in Queen’s Hospital. Born in Papaikou, Hawaii, she is survived by husband Harry; sons David, Charles and Walter; daughter Joyce Nesbitt; brother Richard; sisters Chiyoko Miyasoto and Alice Furuichi; and six grandchildren. Vincent E. Pilapil, 62, of Hilo, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, died Saturday in Hilo Hospital. He was also a retired firefighter with Hawaii County Fire Department and a part-time employee of HITCO Moving & Storage Service Co. Sally O. Yogi, 74, of Honolulu, a retired accommodations department customer service representative at Liberty House, died Oct. 2 at home. Born in Waikaumalo, Hawaii, she is survived by husband Seiichi; sons Francis K. and Ronald M.; daughter Carolyn Y. Ige; brother Thomas Takemoto; sister Edith Oshiro; and eight grandchildren. Frank F. Zeffiro Jr., of Lihue, formerly of Torrington, Conn. died last Friday in Queen’s Hospital. He owned his own construction company and was also Public Works Director in Winsted, Conn. On Kauai he was manager of Sunset Kalihi Condominium, a purchasing agent for Lihue Plantation, operations manager of Kauai Bulk Sugar Storage and manager of Kauai branch of PSD. He also worked for Garden Isle Publishing Co. He is survived by wife Dorothy; sons Frank F. III and William E.; daughter Winona L.; brothers Aldo and Dr. Ronald; and two grandchildren.
