TOKYO -- Ozeki Musashimaru injured his left heel on the final day of the recently concluded Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament and cannot take part in sports activities for a month, the Musashigawa stable said today.

Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani from Hawaii, reportedly injured his heel in his loss to Takanonami, leaving him tied with yokozuna Takanohana for the lead in the 15-day tournament at 13-2. The ozeki lost to Takanohana in a playoff bout for the Emperor's Cup.

Musashimaru missed today's All-Japan Rikishi Championships, won by Wakanohana, and will also sit out the Oct. 5 autumn regional tour.
