Courtney starDEL COURTNEY, who turns 87 tomorrow, led Clyde Pound's fine band to "In the Mood" last Saturday night at the Institute for Human Services Big Band Bash at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Earlier, many of the band members came to Del's table to greet their former bandleader. Jimmy Borges was ill that night, and that gave Anita "Cheyenne" Hall a chance to take the spotlight. She was outstanding. Cheyenne can sing anything: Swing numbers, ballads, country, rhythm & blues, rock or Latin. CHEYENNE was present when a man fell in a building Wednesday and she rushed to help him. Cheyenne just happened to be wearing hospital scrubs, and onlookers, thinking she was a doctor, stood back as the singer comforted the man. She is something else ...
