"Pacific Young Playwrights," a workshop for writers ages 12-20, will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 11, Hawaii Theatre Up to 10 writers from the workshop will be asked to develop one-act plays in a continuing Saturday class. No theater background is necessary. Cost: $5. Register at 839-9885 by Sept. 26.

Contests

New Jersey Rainbow Poets is offering a grand prize of $1,000 for religious poetry that inspires. Poems can be written in any style and on any subject (nature, love, etc.) as long as there is a spiritual reference.
