Fundraising
for a piece of history

Adrianne Greenlees wants to raise $25 million to develop a USS Missouri experience when it comes to Pearl Harbor in 1998.

"We're just in the process of starting the national campaign right now," she said.

"The money will be used for the entire visitor experience -- ship modifications, permanent and temporary mooring sites, the visitor center, exhibits and artifacts, safety and handicapped access."

For the past three years she has been an economic development specialist at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii.

She earned a bachelors degree in international studies and economics and a master's degree in political science from the University of Hawaii.

The USS Missouri will be towed from Bremerton, Wash. to Pearl Harbor in May 1998 and will open to the public in early 1999.
