Dr. Blake Waterhouse wants the weekly meeting at the Honolulu Rotary Club to be "educational, relevant, and fun."

As the club's new president, Waterhouse also wants to enhance community service, increase financial contributions to community projects and organizations, and support projects of Rotary International.

Waterhouse is president and chief executive of Straub Clinic & Hospital and is involved in Straub's business development. He joined Straub in 1990 after 27 years in the medical profession. His previous job was president and CEO for the Physicians Plus Medical Group in Madison, Wis.

Waterhouse, an internist, graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1961, and earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin in 1988.

Founded in 1929, the Rotary Club of Honolulu now has 350 members.
