SATURDAY

Waikiki stroll: Explore Waikiki beach at sunset, 5:30-7 p.m. at Waikiki Aquarium. Children must be 5 or older and accompanied by an adult. Cost: $6 adult, $5 child. Register by mail. Call 923-9741.

"Family First Saturday": Parents and children can enjoy stories and crafts, 10 a.m., Kalihi-Palama Public Library.



CONTESTS

"What Is Your Constitution?": Children in grades four through 12 are wanted for the Hawaii Masons third annual essay contest.

In 750 words or less, writers should interview parents, grandparents, friends or other sources for information and opinions promoting patriotism and awareness of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Essays will be judged in three categories: grades four-six, seven-nine, and 10-12. First-, second- and third-place winners will receive U.S. Savings Bonds for $500, $250 and $100, respectively.

Entries should be typed, double-spaced on plain white paper and sent to: "What Is Your Constitution?" c/o the Honolulu Masonic Temple, 1227 Makiki St., Honolulu, HI 96814-1332.

Deadline to entries is Sept. 12. For information, call 955-5010.

Winners will be announced on Sept. 20.

Art show: Seventh Annual Children's Art Exhibit featuring the works of more than 250 young artists from Hui No'eau's summer art classes, on view through Sept. 13. For information, call 572-6560.

"World of Whales": Pearlridge Center Dinamation exhibit featuring an "Under the Sea Treasure Hunt Map"; "Whale of Fun Weekends" with face painters, balloon artists and performances; and replicas of whales, a squid and dolphins, on view through Sept. 14. Information, 488-0981.

"Mother Goose on the Loose": Preschool storyhour for children ages 3-5, 10:30 a.m. through Sept. 18 at the Salt Lake/Moanalua Public Library. For information, call 831-6831.

"Ocean Planet": What intriguing things are hiding in our oceans? Bishop Museum will unlock the ocean's secrets in an exhibit being held through Oct. 5. Admission: $6.95-$14.95. Keiki can enter free with a Daiei receipt showing the purchase of a Kraft Foods product. Receipts must be dated from May 18-June 14. Call 847-3511.
