A variety show is a highlight of the
annual Okinawan Festival.

It's a fine weekend for a festival

Ultimate strength test

The 1997 Aloha Plane Pull, a benefit for Hawaii Special Olympics, has extended the deadline for entries to Sept. 5.

The pull pits teams of 20 against an Aloha Airlines Boeing 737 weighing 50 tons. Teams pay $500 to enter the contest and each team will receive 25 T-shirts for participating.

The pull takes place Sept. 6, with other activities open to the public from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., such as a paper airplane contest with a prize of a neighbor island trip for two. For more information, call 531-1888, Ext. 25.
